Happy First Day of Summer!
Today we celebrate the longest day of the year, and actual start of summer. And the weather is “cooperating” with some truly sweltering temperatures.And for the astronomically inclined, today is an especially significant Summer Sosltice as we witness a very rare Summer Solstice Strawberry Moon. For those who are not astronomically inclined, that’s the nickname for June’s full moon, and it’s incredibly rare that it lines up with the first day of summer (hasn’t happened since 1967).
So, enjoy your extra long hours of daylight, then witness this rare occurrence…and fret not if you find yourself beneath cloudy skies, the full moon is being streamed on YouTube.
