Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries

Homemade fries always seem to taste better than fast food fries. Fries you get in a sit-down restaurant are better than fast food fries. Fast food fries should be your very last resort. We live in an era where, I guess people have always lived in an era where homemade things were popular. I feel like the era of Pinterest has broadened the DIY and homemade boundaries. You can make anything in your own home now a days, and I think that is wonderful! Fries are something so easy to make. They are easy, tasty, and comforting.
Wednesday, I made some amazing Sweet Potato fries. They were delightful! My family thought that the fries tasted better without ketchup, but I like them with ketchup to dip the fries in. Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries What you will need: ~2 large sweet potatoes (or yams) ~onion powder (a couple sprinkles and a dash worth) ~garlic powder (a couple sprinkles and a dash worth) ~Sea salt (same ^^^) ~Pepper (same ^^^) ~olive oil (a drizzle)  First, preheat the oven to 420 degrees, then rinse off the sweet potatoes and peel them. You can leave the skin on if you'd like, just wash them really well. I took the skin off the potatoes.  Once they are peeled, cut them up into sticks. You can have thick fries sticks, or thin. I did both thick and thin, it doesn't screw up the baking temperature or time. They all cook evenly. The really thin ones burn, but I only had two super thin ones. After you cut the two potatoes up, fill a sauce pan half way with water. Put the cut up potato sticks in the pot and turn the heat on in between low and medium. Do not let the water boil. This isn't to soften them completely, just soften a little.  Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries Keep them in the water for about 10 minutes and then pour the potatoes and water out in the strainer. Prepare the pan. You can either use the pan bare, with parchment paper, or with tin foil. I used tin foil. I dried the potatoes and then put them on the tin foil covered pan. Drizzle the potato sticks in olive oil, sprinkle some onion powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (or garlic salt) on the potato sticks. Use a spatula or a spoon to spread the oil and the spices so that it covers all the fries. Put the fries in for 45 minutes. Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries After they are done baking, don't let them cool all the way before serving. These fries are great warm with some ketchup Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries Homemade & Baked (vegan) Sweet Potato Fries I couldn't stop eating them! They were so delicious! I had to force myself to stop eating them. I wanted to save some for my family, and I didn't want to take in too much starch. These are great for a gloomy, gray day. The fries will brighten it up!
