How Creating Art Every Day Makes Me Love Words & Books & Thrift Scores Even More

Aedm2012It must have been on Monday that I realized November was right around the corner and with it, Art Every Day Month.

As soon as I realized it, I was delighted. I have been doing a lot more than usual with visual art ever since the dive headfirst into art made with books. It has been coming slowly and surely, and now my love affair with art from books revolving around women artists and writers or women in general - sort of pretty social commentary at times - has possessed me.

That and functional art have my attention right now and I imagine will hold my attention through November. I am going to work on art daily, though I can't promise a

My intent is to post the day after I create something. Today, for example, is Day 1 and I am basically giving y'all a brief intro and some "pre-behind the scenes" thoughts.

Tomorrow's blog post (November 2) will show what I did on November 1, etc.

Thank you, as always, Leah Piken Kolidas at Creative Every Day. There is no way I would be where I am as a visual artist without art every day month. When I first started whatever year that was, I felt like I was cheating somehow with my poetry and theater posts.

Now, I feel like I fit right in with this checkered amalgam artist life of myself.

Now, let's get the art flowing!

I look forward to getting to know you better!
