Emoji Hug Happy National Hugging Day!

Yes, this is an actual holiday, and it’s been celebrated every January 21st for the last 30 years. They even have a website — NationalHuggingDay.com.

It’s a day that’s meant to bring the world together, literally. Unfortunatley, it seems to have divided us into groups, the huggers and the non-huggers.

For those who prefer to refrain from embracing the hug, today is their personal nightmare. Making matters even worse for the non-huggers, there’s scientific evidence that the hug is good for your health.

Hugs are a stress reliever. Which means that it’s good for your heart, blood pressure, and just overall well being.

If you’re still not in the hugging holiday spirit, well, you can always celebrate Squirrel Appreciation Day instead. Just be sure not to confuse the two, I’m pretty sure squirrels don’t appreciate hugs.
