…hum Along

music_notesAs we all come to terms with the end of another Memorial Day weekend, I think we could use some #TuesdayMotivation…

And today’s is brought to you by “musical movies,” more specifically, beloved musical movies that are now receiving the remake/sequel treatment.

First up, the sequel that I’m sure is on its way to ruining many a childhood (Ghostbusters haters, that snark was directed at you), “Mary Poppins.” This long-rumored sequel confirmed the casting of Emily Blunt (as the magical governess) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (as a new Bert-like character)…theater dorks everywhere are all over the place as they cope with the fact that someone who is not Julie Andrews will be starring in the film.

Personally, I’m excited to see what they do with it, as they’re promising a darker (closer to the books) take on the magical nanny…and also “Hamilton.”

Then there’s the “Guys and Dolls” remake that now has a director, and theater fans coping with the fact that “no one can replace Frank Sinatra.” True story. But I for one look forward to seeing who does. (Please not Channing Tatum.)
