I Wasn't Smiling When I Started Writing This!

I Wasn't Smiling When I Started Writing This! "In a mood of faith and hope my work goes on." Pearl Buck (whether that is blogging or teaching or Mommying or editing....) I was all set to write a really inspiring essay about hope. It was to be both my first blog post for July and also a part of my new (and continuing) series for July's Ultimate Blog Challenge.

Then my computer shouted, “Too hot and tired to continue!” and shut down, mid sentence.

I waited, went back in, and after reading a quote by Pearl Buck decided I needed to add her profile to the Literary Grannies list. I started reading and nodding and nodding and reading and taking copious notes which were simply fabulous when my computer, tapping her foot and waving her finger through the air said, “Yo. You at the keyboard, I said I was too hot and tired to continue!” Poof! Off went the computer.

This was too much.

I figured my computer was on her death bed, especially when today – July 2 – history repeated itself.

I was now a day behind on the second day of the Ultimate Blog Challenge.

I had no evidence of starting to fall in love with Pearl Buck AND it was still hotter than… choose a hot metaphor or simile to insert here… when I realized maybe if I moved my computer around, maybe if I cleared its airways, maybe if I dusted….

My computer said, “Thank you!” and immediately allowed my to post to my blog, do some photo revision and yes, even write the rest of this.

SO: for July, the plan is to continue to fill in the missing pieces for my April A to Z of Literary Grannies. I will also be adding new writing tips articles, how-to’s and inspirational essays.

I’m looking forward to learning from the others on the Ultimate Blog Challenge as well as sharing my unique ways of looking at the world so that together we may continue to transform this planet into a passion and purpose filled place for each and all.

“Carry on, Julie, you are loved!” says my computer.

Yesterday’s notes from Pearl Buck told us this:

"In a mood of faith and hope my work goes on. A ream of fresh paper lies on my desk waiting for the next book. I am a writer and I take up my pen to write."

UBC-bannerbox200I hope you are smiling as widely as I am.
