Image of the Day: Adjusting The Veil

Posted on the 16 January 2018 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

Today's image of the day is revisiting that most iconic of bridal accessories - the wedding veil. How many brides wear a veil these days? Certainly less than they used to - but that doesn't mean that it's out of fashion! It's simply that there are a wider variety of wedding dress styles and hairstyles which brides can pick from for their wedding day than there used to be, and many dresses aren't designed to work with a traditional wedding veil. It's all about personal choice, which is exactly what your wedding style should be centred around.

This gorgeous wedding dress was full of vintage inspiration, and as such it absolutely demanded a beautiful full length wedding veil to finish it off to perfection! Plus, the wedding ceremony was held in the epic surroundings of Sherborne Abbey in Dorset - a long. long aisle which could easily take the spectacle of a long wedding veil.

As the veil was such an important part of the bridal attire, it was key that I got some great shots of it - and this particular one, as the bride prepared complete her bridal prep at Holbrook House, and then be on her way to the wedding ceremony in Sherborne.

Are you planning to wear a veil with your dress, and if so is it cathedral length, or a shorter more modern take on the traditional bridal veil?
