The heavy rains and strong winds brought about by yet another typhoon left us without power this afternoon. No access to the internet, no television, nothing… Nothing but the eerie of the darkness which surrounded the inside of the house amidst a candle burning bright… The small amount of light from the sun able to escape the clouds that blanketed the sky… And the chorus of raindrops, loud and violent, yet comforting at the same time.
But the darkness in itself has its own story to tell. And somewhere along its corners, a mystery is waiting to unfold. Yes, the dark is filled with secrets. It’s either we fearlessly take the step to discover what’s in store… Or it unabashedly approaches us to show us a (delightful) surprise. And yet either way, we remain in the (unwanted) company of the unknown.
But in the doubts that hide in the dark lies an answer that illuminates the truth – Faith.
For we live by faith, not by sight. — 2 Corinthians 5:7
