Inspiration: Wedding Flowers at Shillingstone House, Dorset

Posted on the 12 October 2016 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

Now that we're well and truly into autumn, I thought it high old time I brought you a blast of summer to remind you of what we've just enjoyed! So today on the Inspiration blog, we're going back to June to take a look at a shoot I carried out at Shillingstone House, Dorset to capture images for superb Dorset wedding and event florist Martha and the Meadow.

This shoot was all about the bridal bouquets - and there's a whole world of inspiration in these gorgeous florals! There's truly something for every taste in this gorgeous line up of bouquet designs, from the softly romantic to bright contemporary colours. Plus, how lucky were we to be able to use the gorgeous, gorgeous grounds of Shillingstone House to hold this shoot in! Shillingstone House is also available to hire as a wedding venue (I shot a wedding here at Shillingstone House in September, which you can see some images here on the blog), and I honestly believe that the gardens and views are absolutely unequalled in variety amongst Dorset's wedding venues.

Choosing a florist is one of those difficult and sometimes stressful jobs when you're planning a wedding, but Emma from Martha & The Meadow makes the entire process easy for you - not only helping you to design a colour scheme to complement your venue and wedding style, but also helping those of us who aren't as flower-savvy to choose just the right blooms to create the perfect atmosphere for your wedding day. Emma's work has a hugely romantic feel to it (as you would rightfully expect from a wedding florist!) with a timeless, elegant feel which will ensure that even if your wedding dress and hairstyle look dated in your wedding photographs in years to come, your flowers won't!

So let's get to the images of this lovely floral styled shoot at Shillingstone House in Dorset - where I also am lucky enough to run a portraiture studio, tucked away in these gorgeous grounds. Isn't it just BLISSFUL here?! - can you imagine having your wedding photographs taken in such a gorgeous location? And HOW romantic are these bouquets?! If you want to know more about any of the bouquets or flowers used, then don't hesitate to get in contact with Emma from Martha & The Meadow direct.
