Happy World UFO Day! Today marks 68 years since the sighting in Roswell, New Mexico, and the birth of the conspiracy theory.
I kid. Conspiracy theories are a tale of paranoia as old as time. Every World UFO Day is special of course, but this year has the extra joy of knowing that the “X-Files” revival is currently filming. When it comes to science fiction (I mean, conspiracy, of course) it all comes back to the “X-Files” for me. It was my first taste of the genre, and it really doesn’t get any better than this:
It’s smart, funny, and educational. Nearly all of my knowledge of extraterrestrial life comes from this show (and “E.T.” of course, the classics).
So, this World UFO Day, keep looking up, and forward to more adventures from Agents Scully and Mulder.
Finally, because this needs to be shared, in one of those beautiful moments of random holiday irony, today is also I Forgot Day…you know what I’m talking about FBI? …of course you don’t.
