Welcome to Monday. In case you weren't aware, we now live in a world where "Bohemian Rhapsody" won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Drama.
In case that isn't hitting quite as hard as it should, let me remind you it beat the favorite "A Star is Born", the Spike Lee film "BlacKkKlansman", "If Beale Street Could Talk", and "Black Panther."
It was a very rare, legit surprise. It's also the perfect underdog inspiration to get your week started. Yes, it's a north of $700 million at the global box office underdog, but in award land that's actually a strike against it.
The film also fired its original director halfway through filming, for reasons that deserve its own post (and a conversation on Hollywood hypocrisy). Although, I'll remind those that are quick to judge, that the director of a film is just one small piece. Remember to show some respect for the other people who worked on it, and had to deal with the jerk who was fired.
Anywho, the point is on Mondays a lot of us feel like underdogs. The same can be said for the rest of the week as well. The odds may seem stacked against you, but that's no excuse to give the world anything but your best.
Yes, some days it will feel like you're Bradley Cooper, overlooked by the HFPA. But that'll just make the days when you feel like Queen even sweeter.
