Lesson 578 – Quotable Chicks

“I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.”

Harry S Truman

Marc’s taken a few days off and while I’m still at the laptop cranking out my writing, he’s been able to spend time with some of the older kids. These days when everyone has jobs, different schedules, and sleep hours (ahem, video games until 2 am, really?) it’s rare when we can spend time with the kids on pure fun.

But that’s what Marc has done this week. Household chores (like fixing the mailbox) become kind of enjoyable when you do it with one of your sons.

An impromptu trip into Boston where the kids have to not only pick where you are going but navigate the best route (which includes public transportation) becomes a fun (and sneaky) way to teach the skills needed to literally get around.

This weekend is Father’s Day and while I primarily write about the hens in our flock (and the quick dismissal of the roosters) I have to acknowledge that without those roosters, there would be no hens.

So happy Father’s Day to all. Enjoy the weekend and if you can, have some fun with your kids.

You won’t be sorry.

See you next week.

As always, happy weekend everyone, health and happiness (and safety) to your flock.
