LET’S TALK ABOUT V.I.P’s!

I met a homeless woman today. The normal reaction for anyone just like me would be to walk away and not try to help because they look or smell terrible. But she was persistent and didn't want to leave me alone. I decided to listen to her and the moment she began to speak, my heart went out to her. She had to leave town because she was always physically abused by a man, and she had also lost her parents. I didn't know until tears began to roll down from her eyes. She looked very frail and seemed like she could drop at any moment. A big part of me wanted to give her a warm hug and tell her that everything would be alright. LET’S TALK ABOUT V.I.P’s!

"Do you have a pound, please?" She asked. I knew she needed it much more than I did. I dipped my hands into my back pocket and counted my coins. She was asking me for my bus fare home, and I counted it and gave it to her. I could see the pain in her face and the hunger in her eyes.

She didn't know where the next meal was going to come from. "Please I just need a place to stay," she said. I didn't have anything to offer her. Just like Peter said "I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you..."

In the literal sense, I didn't have silver or gold. I only have Jesus, and I was happy when she asked me to pray for her. You know I've never prayed for a stranger on the street. It was my first experience, but I know God answered.

She lit up a cigarette to smoke as I held her hands and prayed to the only person I know has the power to heal and restore people. Today in my church, it was about VIP's. It was about the women we had to serve and remind how loved and extraordinary they are to us as a church community.

Today, I met my own VIP. Jesus loves you, Kelly. Wherever you end up tonight and wherever you sleep tonight, I'm sure he would keep his angels watch over you.

Matthew 26:11 ''You will have the poor with you every day for the rest of your lives, but not me.'' (The Message)

They are GOD's VIP's... Always remember that. GOD BLESS YOU
