…let the Sunshine in

Posted on the 23 October 2014 by Zer @the2women

sunThis summer, moon fans (you know who you are you lunar nuts) got quite a few good shows, what with all of the super moons and blood moons and lunar eclipses.

But I ask you, why should the moon have all of the fun?

Probably because solar events can be far more difficult to view, and potentially harmful to your eyesight, but that’s beside the point (but seriously, be careful).  The point is, today the sun gets its moment in the sun (which I suppose is just about every moment for the sun), and we get a partial solar eclipse.

This afternoon at around 4:45 central, the moon will pass between Earth and the sun, and partially block out the sun for a few moments, and the U.S. and Canada will have a great view. A great view, that you really shouldn’t look directly at, once again, but definitely check it out, using one of the safe viewing options listed in the link below.

Because the sun’s pretty awesome, it’s a star in its own right (and quite literally). So give it some cosmic love…while protecting your eyes, and your skin (eclipsed suns can still burn you)…
