Looking Forward to Manana
Note to self: being off the box rules. The "box", "the meat wagon", "the 'lance", whatever you want to call it... it's already like it's a distant memory and it's only been a few weeks. But, you know why this is all popping into my mind right now? Cuz i'm ordering new uniform shirts. No more "FIREFIGHTER II" above my name.. Firefighter I, baby. Suhweeeet. Speaking of work, i'm looking forward to manana. Weekends at the station are the best. Nothing quite beats football sundays, but saturdays are close. Breakfast in the morning, barbecue in the afternoon, saving lives inbetween. (It's ok to be jealous) I do have to admit, i'm gonna miss Bruce's steaks over at 9s. The first time he made his steaks at the station i was like, "dude, you just found the 'savant' part of your 'idiot savant'." They're really that good. Say what you will about Brucey Bruce (just like juicy juice except filled with drama and cigarette smoke), but the man can prepare a steak. ***This is about to be a very random thought*** Have you ever been so thirsty you just had to stop everything you were doing, leave your house, and buy something to drink? Yeah that happened to me just now. My fridge was zero percent helpful to me in the thirst department. What was 3 little asterisks just now for you was actually about a 25 minute break for me while i ran to stripes and picked up a huge Dr. Pepper and an impulse buy of Nerds.
Looking Forward to MananaNow where was i... ah yes, the intense love i have for weekends at the station. Actually, I think you got the idea. I. Love. My. Job. On a side note, stop reading this blog right now and go rent "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans". What a trippy, good movie that was. I hadn't seen a good Nicolas Cage movie in a while and i totally stumbled upon it last night. That guy went from huge blockbuster smashes to just a neverending string of crap movies so quickly, but this one was dead on. I love movies where you can't see what's coming next. Not gonna give anything away. Just go rent it (clip below). Just as i type that Sprunger is texting me to hit up Niko's. I don't know. $6 for a Guinness. not really feeling that. Now, had he texted "Recess" then i'd be thinking "sweet, sweet Kendall and $6 pitchers".. Now that i'd do. But i'm thinking it's a stay in kinda night. Saving lives tomorrow. Then football all day on Sunday. Yeah i'll be a good boy tonight. Life is good.
