Manic Pixie Dream Girls and a Trip to Dawson’s Creek

Les Manic Pixie Dream Girls: Natalie Portman in Garden State; Ellen Page in Juno; Kirsten Dunst in Elizabeth Town; Kate Hudson in Almost Famous

Sometimes, I wonder if I’m becoming one of the stereotypes found in the many, many movies I consume. Take, for example, the Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Sometimes I think, “Am I turning into a Manic Pixie Dream Girl?”

But then I think, “Nah, I’m too crazy to be a Manic Pixie Dream Girl.”

BUT THEN I think, “That’s exactly what a Manic Pixie Dream Girl would think.”

BUT THEN I think, “I’m all of the Manic Pixie and none of the Dream Girl.”

Which leads me to think, “That’s something a Self-Loathing Emo Girl would think.”

And the vicious cycle continues….

In unrelated news, I’ve decided to spend today live-tweeting the first season of Dawson’s Creek while I cross shit off my To Do list. That show was the soundtrack of my adolescence but I haven’t seen any of the episodes since they originally aired (starting in 1998.)

I was 11 at the time.

So… this should be interesting…

Follow me on Twitter @missbunnysunday and watch the hilarity unfold!

***UPDATE***

I told Fiancé that I hadn’t slept all night because I was preparing to live-tweet Dawson’s Creek.

The look in his eyes said, “I am imagining you dead.”

I don’t blame him.
