Lately my beautiful B1 has started coming up to me when I am sitting and laying her head on my lap for a cuddle. I pat her on her head or back and say ‘Thank you, that’s nice.’ Then she looks up at me and smiles and toddles off to do something else. One night last week she did it over and over again for about five minutes and got the biggest smile on her face each time I thanked her and told her how nice it was.
So last night she did it to me a couple of times then her brother came over to us and was standing near by. After she did it to me she toddled over to him and lay her head on his tummy/ chest and wrapped her arms around him. It was so adorable. It’s the first time I have ever seen her go up to him and show affection like that. I wish I had my video camera ready. My hubby and I watched in amazement with huge smiles on our faces.
Of course B2 just looked down at her and then at me as if to say ‘What is she doing?’ and then he walked away to play with one of his toys.
Soon after, my hubby asked me if I thought they were going to be best friends when they’re older? My response was that I certainly hoped so. I know they will go through stages of liking and wanting to play with each other and then stages of not wanting anything to do with each other but I am hoping that they will be the best of friends for the majority.
I still have the image of that cuddle in my mind and I can’t help but smile every time I think of it.
