Last week two of my cousins came to stay with my Nanna for a couple of days with their kids during the school holidays. We went to visit so we could see them and the kids could have a play date. It was wonderful seeing all the kids playing together, filling my Nanna’s house with play and laughter. It reminded me of when we were little and would go to Nanna’s and Poppy’s house for birthdays and holidays like Christmas and Easter.
There was my two cousins with their 7 kids, my sister with her 5 week old bubba, me with the twins, my almost 92 year old Nanna, my mom and my older sister.
To say it was loud would be an understatement. Watching my Nanna with the kids was wonderful. She is an amazing woman. She has four children, 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, with another on the way. She still lives in her big two story house by herself and is an absolute inspiration.
We got a photo of her with all the kids. We had to take a few to get a good one. But looking at that photo makes me so thankful for my wonderful family and all the good times we have together. I love that B1 and B2 get to spend time with their Great Gran Nan, and I can’t wait for all the family traditions that we will share together.
