It’s Weekend Walkabout over at KB’s Room and Sundays in My City at Unknown Mami’s.

There were several times during this (incredibly long winded) speech where it sounded like it was going to end, and people began to clap… only for it to continue for another 5 minutes.  This happened 3 or 4 times.  The elderly lady in the pew behind us was pretty comical as she mumbled through his speech… all those near her trying to hold back laughter.

We all meandered out of the ceremony into the crisp night air — just in time to see the grads come out… and with a roar, fling their satin hats high into the air.  In that one symbolic moment, proud parents silently watched those hats rise and fall — as they carried up the childhood years and returned to them cradling dreams of the future.

“It is our choices…that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
~Albus Dumbledore, character from Harry Potter
