Motivation & Happiness
What is it that gives you motivation? This is a topic I have wanted to address for long time now on the blog. It is something I have struggled with for some time and an issue to which I feel many of us can relate. Is it fear of deadlines or consequences? You get pleasure in the task? Or is it that you're constantly demanding improvement from yourself?
Depending on the aspect of your life you may be thinking about it may be one or all those things! I have along the way lost my motivation and it is something I have been working hard to get back ever since. The people who know me in real life know me as someone who works very hard and has high expectations of themselves too. This can be a blessing in disguise! It can be the motivation you need to do better or it can be debilitating.
This year has been a difficult year, I am transitioning into a professional who has responsibilities for the health of other people whilst I have been battling my own health issues. The career path I have chosen is very competitive and hard work but at the same is very rewarding when you see the results you have achieved with your patient. My love for my chosen career is still there however the expectations I have put on myself often get me down.
Motivation & Happiness
Blogging has been a fantastic outlet for me and has allowed me to meet many creative and interesting people. Writing is something that gives ME motivation. The picture of the NIKE shoes above is a part of my new motivation. I have always been interested in health and fitness but this year this is an area of my life I have let slide. I am not happy about that and it needs to change. You might think new shoes is a meaningless motivational tool but for me it's a symbol- new shoes- new attitude. Let's see if it sticks.
What makes you happy? I have found happiness in the last few months through communication. It seems a simple concept but one I have misunderstood for a long time. Communication doesn't have to be about being selfish or demanding it's simply about expressing your desires, concerns or issues with others in order to achieve a result everyone is happy with. I have always been one to put up and shut up even when I have been unhappy or dissatisfied. I now know vocalising my opinion and feelings means a better outcome for everyone involved.
I hope that ramble was of some use for someone. I would love to hear your experiences so please leave a comment below. Have you had a period in your life where you lacked motivation or happiness? How did you turn in around?
