A 2016 American Superhero Film

I'm very picky when it comes to movies I see in cinemas. We watch movies because we want to be entertained but aside from that I also want to learn something from it. I reflect from the movies I watch every time.

I was privileged to be one of the firsts to see Disney's Doctor Strange movie. So I'm sharing my thoughts / brief review - however I don't wanna spoil you guys but I'll give you reasons why you should put it in your To-watch list this weekend. By the way I am no professional movie critic and everything is based on my personal experience and views.

STORYLINE

It's about the Doctor named Stephen Strange who is a successful, wealthy, and egotistical neurosurgeon whose lover is a fellow doctor, Christine Palmer. He picks cases to solve, only when he finds the patient's case interesting. Until an accident turned his life upside down and destroyed her hands. As a doctor, he can no longer work without his hands. He tried everything to get them back to normal as far as he used all his money and time. When medical science no longer seem to work, he seeks to something beyond his imagination in quest to get his hands back without him knowing there's more to what he is up for. He proved himself that he can still save more lives despite of what happened to him.

CHARACTERS / PERFORMANCE

I always look at the lead actors/actresses in a film. Knowing that Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing as Doctor Strange, I can't think of anyone else that will fit the character aside from him. I first saw him through the series "Sherlock" so I'm pretty confident he'll be perfect for this one too.

The other main casts; Tilda Swinton (Ancient One), Rachel McAdams (Christine Palmer), Mads Mikkelsen (Kaecilius) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Karl Mordo) played their roles very well too!

DIRECTION/EDITING/CINEMATOGRAPHY

I know a lot of you will watch this in 3D! I love how the flow goes on from start to end. I didn't find any missing piece of the movie. It gets me more curious scene after scene. The camera angles, lighting, sounds, and costume are great. It's a mix of different moods and I liked how it transcends from one to another. There are also few scenes that will uplift the mood of the audience.

SPECIAL EFFECTS

Can't say anything but - AWESOME guys! You'll love all the special effects in this movie. It's not that jaw-dropping kind of thing but I loved it! My favorite is how they put controlling time into power!

OVERALL & RATING

One of the best MCU movies I've seen so far! The combination of everything (character, location, special effects, cinematography) is great for my personal standard. If I'm gonna rate this, I'll give it a 9.5/10. If there's anything missing in the movie, I wish it has more action scenes!

Self-realization. Sometimes, we think highly of ourselves when we think we have and we know everything. We become so great that we are afraid of failure and we don't realize that we are missing a lot of other opportunities to learn and explore more of than what we know because our mind is closed. Doctor "Strange" is such a strong title/name and it fits the character. Stephen became too self-absorbed that he questions anything beyond his knowledge. In order to be successful in life, you have to Open Your Mind. Be Strange. Let the weird and extraordinary things happen.

I'm so excited for you to see this movie! Please let me know in the comments if you've seen it already and your thoughts about Doctor Strange!
