My Christmas Selection

Posted on the 21 December 2014 by Mummysspace @mmeeee
I love Christmas! Everything from Rudolph jumpers, Christmassy smells and fragrances filling the house to festive movies and books, I can't get enough of it all, therefore I have decided to share my top finds so far this season. I hope you like my selection and you may even find some last minute gift ideas too.

The All Important Christmas Jumper

I love how Christmas jumpers have lost their "naff-ness" and have become a must have Christmas garment. This year I have found some fantastic ones for all the family, young and old. The kids ones include a flashing nosed Rudolph for Ben and musical Elf top for Zachary from Next, a very pretty Mrs Clause and Robin jumper for Zoey from Sainsbury's, the coolest Rudolph romper ever from Boots for Zachary and some fun (and a little naughty) jumpers for my husband and I from Tipsy Elves which you can see below.

Smells like Christmas

I love the smells of Christmas, mulled wine, cinnamon, spiced apple and so on. This year we have lots of very festive fragrances about the house by Febreze including candles and a selection of air fresheners thanks to a delivery of an amazing smelling hamper. I am also loving Whittard Mulled wine, it is not only delicious and refreshing but has that Christmas aroma to brighten any day.

Cinema Trip

We were lucky enough to get a very early viewing of Get Santa which is definitely going on my Christmas movie must see list and we will definitely be getting the DVD when it's out next year to watch. It is perfect for getting all the family into the Christmas mood with a very believable and real dose of Santa magic. We all loved it so I can highly recommend.

Another movie which I am looking forward to seeing this Christmas is Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb which is released in UK cinemas on the 19th December. Set in London with Larry played by Ben Stiller and all the other much loved Night at the Museum characters including Dexter the cheeky monkey making a reappearance it is set to be a fun family movie which all the family will enjoy.

Christmas DVD's

We have a lot of Christmas movies and every year, come December we start watching them. Our favourites include Polar Express, Arthur Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life (our Christmas Eve movie), Elf, Love Actually, The Nativity and Miracle on 34th Street to name but a few.
There are also some great new DVDs and Blu-Rays released in time for Christmas which have found their way onto Ben's Christmas list including Planes: Fire and Rescue. It is a heart-pumping, laugh-filled follow-up to last year’s smash hit “PLANES" and shows the journey of world famous racer Dusty Crophopper as he joins an elite fire and rescue unit and learns what it takes to become a true hero. It features non-stop action, memorable characters and exclusive bonus content which makes “PLANES 2: FIRE & RESCUE” this winters must-own animated family film!

Christmas Pampering for Gifts & You

Pampering products always make a very welcome gift. This year I am loving the beauticology range from Bayliss and Harding which look and smell amazing. They are made to "make people smile" with fragrances good enough to eat including Strawberry & Pomegranate, Mango & Mandarin, Coconut & Lime and Pink Grapefuit& Raspberry and products including Shower scrubs, body lotions, hand creams, bath and shower gels and refreshing fragrance mists.

Christmas Books

We love books in this house so everyone will be getting some. One of our favorite Christmas books this year is ‘A Treasury of Christmas Stories and Songs’. It contains six wonderful Christmas stories which are The Night Before Christmas, The Nutcracker, The First Christmas, The Snow Queen, The Twelve Days of Christmas, A Letter to Santa, Away in a Manger, along with twelve classic rhymes and carols and beautifully illustrated for all the family to enjoy. It really is a special book, perfect for Christmas time.
My Christmas Selection
I have to share some other favorite books I've found for the kids which we will be reading this Christmas. For the twins who are already big fans of the Little Learners Finger Puppet Books I have ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ to add to their collection. This adorable nursery rhyme board book features a fun sheep character finger puppet toy built into the story, encouraging interactive play, hand-eye coordination and language development for babies aged 6+ months. It is the perfect size for little hands. I always have one or two these books in my bag as they are ideal for reading and for playtime on-the-go.
Another very cute find for Zachary and Zoey is a special gift set ‘Count to 10 with a Mouse’. It is beyond cute with an adorable little mouse inside. It is not just sweet but educational too as on each page you learn to count with your cuddly mouse. This beautifully illustrated story set is from best-selling author Margaret Wise Brown - creator of the children’s classic Goodnight Moon and will enchant children. I can't wait for the twins to see this one.
My Christmas Selection Ben love The Dinosaur That Pooped series of books by Tom Fletcher and this Christmas has asked for The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas which I know he will be very excited about on Christmas morning. I always got an annual for Christmas when I was a child so I was delighted when I found The Lego Annual for Ben. I love the fact 2015 on the cover is made out of Lego.

Costa Christmas Cups

This Christmas I am loving Costa's Ceramic mugs. They come in four adorable characters - Santa, Reindeer, Elf and Snowman. They cost £7.95 and can be purchased in Costa stores. Being ceramic, they have a really high-end feel and would make a lovely stocking filler for any tea or coffee lover this Christmas.
