My Dog Ate Your Email

Posted on the 01 March 2013 by Latinaprpro @latinaprpro
As with most blog posts I write, I have been dabbling on this bad boy for the last few months. No joke.
Of course, time and works gets in the way, Then I revisit it -again-, and then I put it in the back-burner.  This post was never a priority...until now.
You see, I received a super annoying email over the weekend. Midnight. Saturday.
Usually I don't look at the time emails are sent. Until I read this email.
The (assumed) demanding tone started like this...
"I've emailed you several times and I haven't heard back..."
First I panic.  "Holy crap, is my email down - again?!" I ask myself.  Because, you know, it's happened more than once.
Then I look for the (supposed) previous emails on my iPhone.  Nothing.
I search on my online server for a second email (possibly a third).  Nothing.
I run to my desktop in pajamas (I am only adding this visual because it gives a little more weight to the fact that I was indeed stressed).  Nothing.
Then I finally reread her email and looked at the date stamp:  Saturday, midnight.
Seriously?  Who the "F" emails a business colleague a demanding email over the weekend?!
Now, don't get me wrong, I work weekends - many.  I also work well past normal work hours.  By the same token, I have also sent emails to my friends well into the wee hours of the evening...but I NEVER, EVER, expect a response immediately, especially not during the weekend.
Now, let's say I did get her email and I accidently filed it in the round file
