My First Blog Conference

BloggyBootCamp My First Blog Conference

This weekend I’ll be attending my first blog conference ever.  While there are currently a million conferences to pick from, I settled on The SITS Girls Bloggy Boot Camp in Philadelphia.  It’s the cheapest in-person conference I could find and it’s only one day (so if I end up hating conferences it’s no biggie).

The conference should be a great learning experience for me since I’ve never really received any formal blogging education (if such a thing exists).  They will be covering the Business of Blogging, Using Social Media, Search Engine Optimization, Vlogging (video blogging), Design, and Writing.

I’m also really excited because this should be a great networking opportunity for me.  Blogs of all types and sizes will be represented (making little bloggers like me feel welcome).  And since the participants are just as into blogging as me, I’m hoping to pick up some great tips and suggestions from them as well.  I’ll be soaking in as much knowledge as I can get (got to get my $99 worth).  Maybe I might even make a few new friends along the way.  You never know.

Although I’m super excited about meeting some potential blog friends, I’m also really, really nervous.  While I don’t mind small talk (sorority recruitment has a way of getting you over that real fast), the thought of it makes me anxious.  I always worry that I will come across awkwardly and stumble through the night.  It hasn’t happened yet but there’s always a first time for everything.

Luckily, I’m bringing some reinforcements with me, Mr. A.  Even though he won’t be attending the sessions or cocktail gatherings (he’s all set to explore Philly), it will still be nice to have him on the ride up and back for encouragement.  There’s nothing better to calm your nerves than holding your hubby’s hand.

So wish me luck this weekend.  I hope to come back and make Mr. & Ms. Adams even better than before.

Have you ever attended a blogging conference?  Have any tips or suggestions?  I’m totally all ears icon smile My First Blog Conference
