My first memory of Snow

From my home town, last winter. Canon EOS 3000 + Rossman film

I was four, and the first snow had fallen just around my birthday. I remember waking up one morning and there being snow everywhere outside. Everything was so incredibly bright.
My Dad took me to the post office to pick up a birthday gift from my grandma, and I was so excited. I remember the cold plastic covered cold seats in the rented pickup and my Dad being so much taller then me. I remember the warmth of the post office, the smiles my Dad and the post office lady exchanged and the beautiful brown wool sweater that my grandma gave me that birthday with a matching hat. Somehow I thought all these pleasant things were because of the bright snow outside.
There hasn't been much snow around my birthday in about ten years, probably due to that funny little thing called climate change. Nevertheless, I know it will come around some day soon.
I know that snow has different symbolic interpretations in different cultures. For me, snow has always been a harbinger of something very pleasant. What about you? What was your first memory of snow?
