My (Slightly Quirky) Valentines Wishlist

Posted on the 04 February 2017 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy
Valentines Day is just around the corner, and it's time for the Last Minute Gift Buyers amongst us (that would be me...) to start thinking about what we're going to pull out of the bag this year...
Now I have to admit to not being the biggest celebrator of Valentines Day - It doesn't go by unnoticed or anything, I love an occasion and will no doubt mark it with some seasonal craft activities for the kids and a nice romantic dinner in the evening for Jon & I...but when it comes to gifts I find it a difficult one, as it falls very close to Christmas AND right between our children's birthdays - meaning that our money is tied up in other places!
It also seems like the gifts you give for Valentines Day should be romantic in some way, and to be honest I often feel that it's a little bit wasteful to be given chocolates and flowers or expensive jewelry just because it's Valentine's Day when in actual fact, I'd rather the money was spent on other things that I actually want or need...and the things I want tend to be a bit more quirky than your average Valentines gift!
So with February now upon us, when Jon asked me today if there was anything I'd like for Valentines Day this year - I went online and put together a little selection of ideas for him, things that don't break the bank and fit nicely into the Valentines Day theme but are also things that I would actually use!
And I thought I'd share my list here!
First on the list, following my recent visit to Disneyland Paris, I have a whole host of Disney Desirables on my wishlist! There were so many beautiful bits & pieces there that I wanted to buy, and so many other things I've seen since coming home - so of course any of these would score Jon some major brownie points!
The "True Beauty Comes From Within" ladies sweatshirt is just amazing if you ask me - it's from the Disney Store's new collection launched to coincide with the release of the new live action Beauty & The Beast movie and I couldn't love it any more!
Then there's this adorable cuddly Cogsworth which I fell in love with at Disneyland but I pondered over it too long and missed my chance to buy it, however...It's actually £10 cheaper here at home so...potential Valentines gift?!
I also fell in love with this beautiful Musical snowglobe ornament featuring all of the Disney Princesses but at £130, it's slightly on the pricey side...
I have also just discovered Chamilia's range of beautiful Disney charms which I just adore - the Chip one in particular is just so pretty!
Moving on from the Disney things, I  just love the look of these pretty cotton pajamas by David Napier  - PJ's are always on my wish list, no matter what the occasion.  I basically live in pajamas unless I'm leaving the house, and so I can never have too many pairs!
Valentines Guide
I'm a big fan of unicorns at the moment, and I am in desperate need of a new make up bag so this Embrace Your Inner Unicorn one from the Scouse Bird Problems online shop is calling my name - and some pretty rainbow highlighter to go in it wouldn't hurt either!
I also spotted this quirky little sign that I just love - Scouse Girls With Long Lashes Love Prosecco In Their Glasses...never a truer word was spoken!
Next up are some more traditional Valentines items from a favorite company of mine, Uncommon Goods - Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, UncommonGoods is a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique jewelry, designer décor, tabletop items, and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people and their lowest-paid seasonal worker rate starts at 50% above the minimum wage!
I love to support businesses who hold good values, and so for that reason Uncommon Goods are one of the first places I go to whenever browsing for any occasion - they have a great selection of Valentines Gifts available  this year, my favorite of which being the Hot Chocolate Lovers Selection - I love the idea of foodie gifts like this, because they're not something that you'd tend to ever really indulge yourself in unless they were gifted to you.
I also love the idea of this very kitsch but oh-so-sweet What I Love About You book from their great selection of gifts for women - and if you're looking for a gift for your husband they have a great range for that too!
So there we have my Valentines Wishlist for this year, let's keep our fingers crossed that a certain someone is paying attention hey?!
