The internet is already buzzing with new shows that will be premiered with the upcoming fall season. Being the TV junky that I am, I love to read these updates and start planning my TV schedule based one what I see is coming out. Over the summer I want to feature some upcoming shows, especially those I am anticipating.
First up - one of the ones I am most excited about. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (which is a P.I.T.A to type out, really puts a halt in my W.P.M.), created by Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), Jed Whedon (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), and Joss Whedon (Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Serenity and more), will be aired by ABC on Tuesday Nights at 8pm, 7 Central Time.
Normally I wouldn't be super excited about TV trying to make a series from some of my favorite comic books, but this is one I am very excited about. Some of the original people will be coming from the movie franchise into the series - but not so much so that it won't work for the transfer to television. What I am looking for is the tongue in cheek humor that the movies and comics are known for, along with some great action sequences. The stories? Well, yeah those need to be decent to keep me hooked; but I always appreciate the TV series that gets a little more into the lives of the ensemble than just the procedural shows showing how they got from point A to point B.
There is a part of me that thinks this will be a '1-season' wonder - though I do hope they prove me wrong.
