[October 14]: Condemn

Posted on the 15 October 2012 by Sarahkasm @Sarahkasm

The stigma surrounding a criminal’s familyThe inability to forgive or forget a scandalPunishing one for another’s faultsSwitching the aloe vera with salt
Condemn The system that postulates this:Guilty until proven innocent,Sentence given before the verdict
Condemn him:The hope and charisma coating the cluster bombs
Condemn them;People who attack others over their choice Of dress
Condemn these:
Ostracizing the victims, and release of their rapistsThe imprisoned on whim, Lost in a legal, fragmented matrix
Never absolveThe money in the media, the media, the media, the media
The bullies that seep through every crack like smokeUnstoppable, even after the deceased’s reproach
Ingratiating the instigator and stifling the provoked
The silence, the accomplice, the blinded The fearful, the selfish, the biased
The making of saints and worshipping praise, Before tearing them down over a human mistake
As the Arabs say:He kills the man, then attends his funeral
Who has condemned What they did to Muhammad Al DurrahWhat they did to Malala YousafzaiWhat they did to Jesse Washington
What they did to my countrymen
What they did to MogadishuWhat they did to KabulWhat they did to the AmazonAnd what they did to the Native Americans? And what has been done?If you can’t condemn these,You will be askedTo forever hold your tongueAnd remember You are luckyIf anyone comes to your defenseWhen you cannot save yourself.----October Poetry: in the style of April Poetry (U.S. National Poetry Month),U.K’s poetry month is October.
