What a fantastic day we had recently for this gorgeous Okehampton wedding, held in an absolutely awe inspiring location in rural Devon! I was thrilled to come along to document proceedings for this fabulous couple, who I actually met at a wedding I photographed a couple of years ago.
This was one heck of a celebration, which you'll get to see when I blog the full wedding in the near future! The feeling of love, anticipation and excitement was absolutely palpable throughout the day. It was also incredible to be able to stop off after the church ceremony to photograph the bride and groom in a really special location - a truly stunning bluebell wood, which just happened to be the spot where they got engaged. Now you really can't get any more meaningful than that for a location for your wedding portraits!
There is nothing better, as a wedding photographer, to be able to document the day from start to finish - well, to the point in the evening where it's probably pertinent to melt away and let the fun which doesn't need to be in the wedding album to commence! The bride and groom actually held their preparations in the same location of Higher Eggbeer Farm - which always adds a sense of danger and fun to the proceedings. Will he see her through the window before she's ready? What can the girls spot going on by artfully peering out from behind the curtains? Have they all gone to the pub yet before the ceremony?
