Let's take a look at a wonderful Orchardleigh wedding day, at the beautiful Orchardleigh Estate near Frome in Somerset! I always enjoy photographing weddings here, ever since my first visit, which must be about six or seven years ago. Over the years, Orchardleigh has grown to be a hugely popular venue for couples getting married, and it's easy to see why. Not only is the house truly beautiful, but it has a variety of lovely accommodation on site, gorgeous rolling views, and it's easy to reach from Somerset, Dorset, Bath and Bristol. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
For now, let's go to the start of this particular wedding day, which means taking a look at the wedding party and bridal preparations. As the bride and groom were both getting ready in the main house, it was simple for me to pop between rooms and keep an eye on what was going on... as well as be there when the groom opened his gift from the bride, which turned out to be a rather emotional moment!
The rooms at Orchardleigh House are huge, which means that it's easy for the respective wedding parties to get ready together in a comfortable manner without it being a bit of a squash, no matter how many bridesmaids and groomsmen there are! It also makes it easier for me as a wedding photographer to get different angles and a larger variety of shots during the bridal preparations, without having to get too close to the subjects and therefore remain relatively unobtrusive.
I often get asked, 'do you just shoot in black and white?' because there are a lot shown on my website, but nothing could be further from the truth.... I shoot in the format the client would like to receive. So, like on this beautiful Orchardleigh wedding day, I delivered the entire set of wedding photographs to the clients in glorious colour!
