If you believed that, you might want to pay closer attention to what's going on in the world, or at least on Capitol Hill. The pressure is building, and like it or not, it's time to pay attention.
We all have our own levels of tolerance when it comes to politics, but the current storm surrounding Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is too important to ignore. History will judge us based on how this plays out. If you don't believe that, I suggest you Google Anita Hill.
Today, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. I do not think that everyone needs to watch today's testimony. To put it bluntly, it is hard to watch for many reasons. However, I do think that as an active participant in our democracy and life you should be paying attention to what is happening.
Today is a litmus test of how we've changed as a society. Today lets us know if the Me Too and Times Up movements have actually reached Washington.
I'll be honest, the comments leading up to today are not encouraging. Today provides another opportunity to see if we've learned anything from past injustices and shortcomings.
So, do what you do to be present and pay attention. How you do that is up to you, but today is not a day to tune out.
