Every once in a while I see these commercials with a rather attractive woman telling me how much money I can save on brand name products by bidding on these penny bidding sites. If I can win an iPad for like $20, why wouldn’t I try it? Lately, I have been really interested in how these sites work. You would think that sites like this would make next to no money, but it turns out they are some of the most profitable sites out there. Sites like Quibids and Beezid are raking in a ton of cash, and it is one of the most simple business plans out there: sell things for cheap, but charge lots of money for people to buy them.
On sites like Quibids, you pay huge money for those little bids. On some sites, buying bids can cost upwards of $100, and every time someone spends a penny, these sites are making at least $0.60. Talk about some seriously amazing profits here. These sites buy products at next to nothing, usually overstock or last year’s product, and rarely do you see anything big like TVs, laptops or even cars. So these products cost these companies nothing, they charge you a ton to bid on them, then get all the profits from the auction itself, it sounds too good to be true from either side.
So since this is clearly such a great idea, I think I am going to start something even cooler. I am going to start a website where I sell random stuff from people’s basements instead of new products. I could just go rob houses, and sell all the stuff I find on the internet for dirt cheap. I am thinking I will call it Stealbids.com “Where you can get anything stolen for a steal!” I am taking the thrill of shopping on the black market to the world, and I think people will love it.
