Pregnant in the Face

Posted on the 14 July 2011 by Susiemcbeth @susiemcbeth
You always know when someone on TV or film is really pregnant as not only do they have the (usually) perfect designer baby bump they also look ‘pregnant in the face’ (a little rounder and healthily cherubic).
A good example of this is Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey in Grey’s Anatomy. Her character was not pregnant on the show but she was in real life, her cheeks totally gave it away, that and the fact that you didn’t get to see her in full profile without a giant bag or a pillow for about half a season.
An example of someone definitely not pregnant in real life would be Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up. Giant bump aside that chick was carrying nothing more than a food baby (but to be fair to her, it is kind of rare for an actress to be actually pregnant on film when playing the part of a pregnant woman – I’m guessing that the timing of the casting alone would be way too difficult to take care of).
Anyway, I have now reached the stage of being pregnant in the face. My face is looking a little fuller and I have been told that I have a nice rosy glow about me (I like to think of the glow as pregnancy related but of course it could be my blood pressure...).
