In a little over 24 hours the awards season officially begins with the Golden Globes. This A-list dinner party can be the most entertaining of the award shows. Bringing together stars of the small and big screen with a lot of boos usually equals a good time.
But aside from being a room full of celebrities, it’s also our first peek at who the Oscar nominees will be this year. If you haven’t been paying attention to the awards buzz this year, right now favorites include “La La Land,” and “Manchester by the Sea,” and “Moonlight.”
If you haven’t seen any of them, and want to seem semi-informed during your Golden Globes viewing party tomorrow, I suggest seeing “La La Land,” they’re poised to be a big winner tomorrow…plus who doesn’t love a musical.
If you’re looking to catch up on the small screen nominees too, we’ll that ship has sailed. But you can still catch the most recent season of “Game of Thrones,” which will probably win. Or you could binge view “The Crown,” on Netflix, which is worth watching even if it doesn’t pull an upset.
If you’re in the mood for a comedy, well the jury is still out on who will win, but HBO’s “Veep” is always good, and the rookie “Atlanta” is getting a lot of buzz.
Still at the end of the day, it’s not about who wins or loses, but about who trips or is three sheets to the wind during their acceptance speech. We’ll be back tomorrow with our best guesses for who will win. Until then, happy viewing!
