Random Thoughts…

Posted on the 16 August 2012 by Drowqueen @theburnedhand

Sorry I missed my own made-up random thought post, but I have been having a difficult time dealing with a few things this week.  Things are looking better now; however, my dad is still in the hospital (I will probably explain later, but it is a mess).  Anyway, on the way there and back again, ha, geek reference, we listened to music.  Here were a few of our thoughts:

  • The seagulls were trying to make a pattern on top of the lights on the bridge.  Then they just started messing with our heads and rearranging themselves, but we knew what they were doing.
  • Every time I hear Down Under by Men at Work, I want a Vegemite sandwich, even though I have no idea what it is.
  • Going across the bridge is oddly soothing and nerve-wracking at the same time.  The up and down motion of the car reminds me of a jockey on a horse, but going over the metal grate makes me want to scream.  My friend used to be scared of all metal grates on bridges.  She would LET GO of the steering wheel.  Seriously.
  • My daughter asked me if the song Cotton Eye Joe was about a dude who messed up other dudes lives.  I looked up the lyrics, and oddly enough, it was.  Ha.  I never really knew what it was about as we only sing the first verse and tune out the rest because it gets stuck in your head.
  • Next, Enter Sandman started to come on and I know it from the first chord, so I  told the girls to get ready.  My tiny one was in a polka-dot skirt, pink shirt, and headband with a large bow.  She looked cute as a button and I taught her how to do the headbanging motion.  Ha ha ha ha.  Sigh.  Then my oldest got into it, and she has long hair, so it was pretty hilarious.  In the mini-van singing with James from Metallica.  I imagined him running around tucking people in using his scary voice…it made my throat hurt as I tried to mimic it.  Ha ha ha.  Sigh.  What fun.  Oh, I had to look that up, I thought it was Lars.  Wait for the part where the kid is saying his prayers…that is the scary voice I mean:)

It is around 3 minutes in…

Lastly, I made it home safely, but apparently have a flat tire.  So now I have to take care of that.  I might have known if the music wasn’t up so loud.  Oops.
