…Rebrand

american flag

This summer just got a little more patriotic. In case you missed it, today Budweiser announced that they’re changing their name (for the summer) to “America.”

Why? Well, I believe the answer to that is–why not? However, the official reason is much more obvious.

With the presidential election (wait, that hasn’t started yet) and the Olympics coming up this year, Anheuser Busch wanted to celebrate this super-patriotic year with a name that’s nearly as synonymous with the United States of America as Budweiser.

The new name, in case you’re wondering, will grace both cans an bottles starting May 23rd through the election in November. While it still seems like an odd promotional stunt, it will bring new meaning to certain campaign’s slogans.

Maybe we could do a name swap for the summer? That would make things really interesting. Either way, its sure to be an interesting summer for Anheuser Busch and the United States of Budweiser.
