…Report

…ReportThis week it was announced that Stephen Colbert will be David Letterman’s successor when he retires from the Late Show in 2015.

Needless to say we were thrilled. We’re huge fans of the Mr. Colbert and “The Colbert Report” here at 2WC, but we can’t help but wonder if this decision was made too soon.

So, as a nod to this late night legend we proudly present — 2WC’s Top 10 Reasons CBS Should Not Have Jumped the Gun with Letterman’s Replacement:

10. Speculation is a powerful tool. You’ve now lost months and months of potential conversation. Think of the dialogue, not to mention the hashtags, that could have been.
9. We now have to speculate for months and months and months on who will take over Mr. Colbert’s satirical desk at “The Colbert Report.”
8.  As a culture we could learn some patience. This trend of instant gratification is a dangerous one. It does not need your help.
7.  Why can’t you be more like NBC, CBS? Peter Pan is  a mere eight months away and we still don’t know who’s cast in the show. (Daniel Radcliffe, please?) We knew about Ms. Underwood more than a year in advance and we all know how that turned out.
6.  Oprah (just imagine, it would be amazing)
5.  Ellen
4. Amy Poehler
3. Tina Fey
2. Tina Fey & Amy Poehler (They should host everything)
1.  Seriously, would it have killed you to pick a woman? It’s like Doctor Who all over again, another white guy, how original. (We say this with nothing but respect for Mr. Colbert and Mr. Capaldi)
