REVIEW! Cadbury Crunchums

Cadbury Crunchums
Yet another new release from Cadbury! I found these Crunchums in Tesco and they were so new that at the time they wouldn't even scan through the checkout and had to be entered manually! I paid £1 for the 105g bag and 1/3 of a bag is 185 calories.
Cadbury has released quite a few of these bag-based snacks recently with Choc Full of Popcorn, Choc Full of Pretzels and Choc Full of Raisins to name a few. Crunchums don't really fit the naming convention but I guess if they did they would be called Choc Full of Cereal...wow, Cadbury should definitely give me a job in marketing!
Crunchums are crunchy cereal bites coated in Cadbury milk chocolate. Not Dairy Milk sadly but I still like their cheaper stuff even if it's not as creamy and has a slightly oiler feel to it.
Cadbury Crunchums
The cereal is maize based one so has a crispy and of course crunchy texture to it. I am not a massive cereal eater because I don't like milk so I am struggling to think of a maize-based cereal that I can compare it too. I can however think of maize based crisps like Chipsticks, Frazzles or even better Space Raiders.
I have said loads of times that I seems to be sensitive to salt and for me the whole sweet and savoury thing is a fine balance so I am quite fussy about this sort of thing. Well the saltiness in these snacks is not strong at all, more of a hint so it didn't offend my taste buds and obviously there is a sweetness from the chocolate. The thing is, Crunchums just didn't do much for my taste buds full stop! I just found them really bland.
Verdict Cadbury Crunchums are just not exciting enough for me so I wouldn't bother buying them again. Mr Review Addict however loved them and clearly found them very moreish as there are none left in the cupboard! REVIEW! Cadbury CrunchumsREVIEW! Cadbury CrunchumsREVIEW! Cadbury CrunchumsREVIEW!
