Yesterday I reviewed ChokaBlok's Very Berry Eton Mess bar and today is another one of the new ChokaBlok bars...Excreme Brûlée! Just like Very Berry Eton Mess, this bar is 80g and priced at £1.40. 1/4 or 20g contains 110 calories and it is also suitable for vegetarians.
Excreme Brûlée is described as "milk chocolate loaded with crunchy butterscotch pieces, swirled with creamy creme brûlée flavoured white chocolate and studded with flakes of gold dusted wafer".
The bar certainly looks fantastic with the gold wafer on the top and the big swirly pattern created by the 2 different kinds of chocolate. It also smells extremely sweet.
Well I will say now that I loved ALL of this bar. I always enjoy ChokaBlok milk chocolate and I loved the addition of the crunchy butterscotch and wafers. My favourite side of the bar however is the white chocolate; the creme brûlée flavour is amazing! It's so creamy and sweet with just a hint of a caramel taste and I especially loved this against the crunchy wafer which reminded me of the crunchy part of a real creme brûlée!
Verdict
I think that ChokaBlok have captured Creme Brûlée in a chocolate bar perfectly! Full marks for Excreme Brûlée! This bar is going to be tough to beat but I still have Banoffee Bonanza from the range to try and Banoffee Pie is one of my all time favourite desserts so I will be interested to see how it compares.
