Marks and Spencer Percy Pig Easter Egg
I don't think that you can really call this Percy Pig an Easter Egg because there is nothing egg shaped about him. To be fair the box doesn't claim that he is an egg but he is definitely pretending to be one because he is being sold at Easter and he was in the Easter section of Marks and Spencer. Egg or not, he is ridiculously cute and I was thrilled when Mr Review Addict bought him for me.
The box describes him as Percy Pig flavor white chocolate which sounded awesome as I am a huge fan of Percy Pig sweets. One fifth of the 215g egg...I mean pig...is 230 calories and Mr Review Addict paid £6. Percy apparently has a new chocolate recipe, sadly I didn't get to try him before now but Gobble Monkey reviewed him last year Marks and Spencer Percy Pig Easter Egg Percy came nicely presented in a see-through box in the usual Percy Pig color scheme. Percy Pig flavoured chocolate apparently involves dried raspberry and strawberry concentrates and he does smell quite fruity and extremely sweet. He contains no artificial colours or flavourings and is suitable for vegetarians I almost felt a bit wrong breaking poor Percy in half but that's what happens when you pretend to be an Easter Egg. The pink chocolate was nice and thick, even thicker around Percy's sprinkle shorts. The taste was quite strange, it was basically a fruity white chocolate and I could taste the raspberries more than strawberry but you know what...it did actually taste like the Percy Pig sweets. I wasn't sure at first but the more I ate it, the more enjoyed it. Marks and Spencer Percy Pig Easter Egg
Verdict The thing about Easter is that you tend to get charged more for less chocolate. If you were buying a bar of chocolate you would pay much less than if it was an egg shaped piece of chocolate of the same weight. So the key to a good Easter Egg...or pig in this case is to make your item have a good novelty value and M&S have definitely got that right here.  Percy would have been more awesome if he came with some actual Percy Pigs sweets inside.
