Plot: After being forced to share her room with her dementia-suffering grandmother, a teen’s resentment turns to love as she uncovers family secrets and gains a new understanding of her grandmother’s past.

Story: Ruby’s Choice starts when Sharon (McKenzie) and Doug (Hunter) are struggling to make ends meet. They want their own place with their daughter Tash (Gillies), but life is holding them down. However, Sharon’s mother Ruby (Seymour) has started to lose her memory and needs caring for.
The family turn to Tash to take a break from school as they plan their next step for Ruby. Something she isn’t interested in but soon starts getting closer to her grandmother. It leads to her learning a secret from the family’s past and one that would change her life.
Verdict on Ruby’s Choice
Ruby’s Choice is a drama following a family dealing with everyday problems before the eldest member shows signs of dementia. It brings them together to adapt to the situation, however, it ends up revealing more secrets about the family.
This movie shows how difficult adapting to life is when an elderly relative starts getting ill. It highlights the struggles with dementia and how people can come together and still learn to be better. This is important and shows how people can touch each other’s lives to bring people closer. We get a great cast and by the end of the movie, you truly understand what everything meant to their characters.
