Saturday Top 5 Laughs

The kids have been cracking me up lately!!
- A few days ago I was explaining to C that if anyone asks him his name he should answer with C___ (his real name.) I went over the same thing, real slowly, a few times, then I asked him: "What is your name?" Without missing a beat he said "Chip!" Haha! I laughed so hard. We weren't even eating or talking about chips or anything previously so that was totally out of the blue. I asked him a few more times and he kept saying "Chip!" Now that he knows we laugh about it he'll say "Chip!" every time you ask him his name. And if you ask him how old he is he'll always says "Two!" instead of one.
- Yesterday I bought some old kids' books at a garage sale and last night the kids were looking through them. Bug found one of them to be really "weird" and she tossed it on the floor. A little while later C picked it up and started looking at it and Bug grabbed it away from him. She said "I told you not to look at that one! It's weiiird!" and she stuffed it under the couch. That particular book had a real antique-y smell so maybe that's why she found it so "weird".
- This morning the kids and I were in the car and Bug wanted to play with several My Little Ponies that she had with her. I told her to let C play with one. She gave him one and told me "I gave him the nasty one." Haha! She gave him the pony with the matted hair.
- The other day C was jabbering away in baby gibberish. Bug ran up to me, all excited, and said "Mama, C is talking in Spanish!!"
- And earlier this week I was going over different body parts in Spanish with Bug: pierna/leg, rodilla/knee, pie/foot, etc and she was naming them off and said "Wow, I'm talking in Spanish!"
- Bug has started calling everyone a "Mexican boy" or "Mexican girl" (we are not very politically correct around here). She saw a black boy riding a bike down the street without a shirt on and she asked me: "Mama, why isn't that Mexican boy wearing a shirt?" And she calls her white cousins and friends "little Mexican boys and girls." I'm not sure she really know what a Mexican is but sometimes I call her a little Mexican girl so I guess that's where she got it. :)
- Bug also calls my mom her "tall grandma". My mom is particularly tall (5'5) but I guess Bug noticed that she's a little taller than her other grandma who is just a little over 5 feet tall. It's so funny the things that kids notice.
