Happy first day of summer! To those checking your calendars because this hellscape of a season couldn’t possibly just be starting, you have my utmost sympathy.
Heat waves and climate change aside, this sunny season does have its advantages, right?
For one, there’s all that sunshine that we’ll actually be seeing less and less of since today is the summer solstice.
Well, there’s the fresh air and endless outdoor activities. Just don’t forget your bug spray. Mosquitoes love the summer too.
At least you’ll be getting plenty of vitamin D. That counts for something. Just don’t forget to wear your sunscreen, and reapply it after you sweat it off.
And now we’re back to that whole climate change thing. I guess there’s always autumn, which is probably only a mere 4 months away.
In all seriousness, enjoy the summer season and whatever you love about it…even if right now that’s only the air conditioning. And don’t forget, there’s always ice cream too.
