Sharing Alone

Posted on the 02 May 2012 by Sarahkasm @Sarahkasm
Her favorite author had a pen pal
Two poets sending love
Thoughts, comfort, peace
Over two seas, two lakes,
Several countries
So she did the same
Got into an inter-web poetry club
Found her
Another her
Someone who understands her
Better than her own poet father
And music loving brother ever did
She wondered if they'd ever meet
And as she gazed across the street
She noticed a woman's Milano
Straddling her feet
The same kind she owned
Straddling her feet
And raised her eyes to see a beauty mark on the woman's cheek
Just like her
Just like me
And realized that perhaps they were never meant to see
But hear
Never look
But listen
Just share
Just read
And a tear glistened on her bent eyelashes
As she thought of how big the world was and how she was alone
In the busiest city on the planet.
