She Left Me for Money

SHE LEFT ME FOR MONEY
Summers have come and gone
And often in winters I think of you
and our love,
the one that you gave up.
I had forgiven you a while back,
if you must know.
For ditching me for the sake of
comfort and money.
Though sometimes I wonder,
how it would have been
had you stayed put
and married this poor human instead.
My love for you was true.
Had you asked for the moon,
the least I would have got were stars.
So what was money in front of that?
But you begged to differ and I had to let you go.
Winters have come and gone.
And often in summers I think of you
and your betrayal.
