there has got to be a better way to make it through this obstacle. settling for a piece of leftover halloween candy is not going to cut it. i won't see any progress going down that road. i managed to find a few books on amazon that can help me find a variety of healthy treats.

and a special one for the little guy. landon has recently become smitten with "koos koos".

i came across the blog "marathon mom" on a recent pinterest search. in this post she has a list of snacks she keeps on hand that are 'anytime' snacks for her kids. i really like that concept. landon is in a very independent stage and having a healthy hub of pre-made snacks that he can grab out of the pantry or fridge would be awesome.

i also found a few fun home made snacks to try out.
sweet potato crackers @ merriment design
fruit snacks @ all day i dream about food
no bake energy bites @ smashed peas and carrots { i think i would switch the chocolate out for raisins }

what are your favorite healthy snacks to eat? how do you dress up your fruits and veggies but still make it good for you and your family?
my goal is to really make food my friend and not keep it as the enemy. i want to enjoy what i eat and the life i have been given. i have been told that after awhile making the right choices will become second nature and no longer feel like torture.
in other news: i got selected to participate in a hot pants {don't laugh} review. tomorrow will be day one of my adventure. they reportedly help you lose a jean size in two weeks. you can check them out on facebook and catch my full review next week.
