…Start a New Chapter

Summer ReadingWe’re in the midst of the dog days of summer. If you’re anything like me, that means its time to finally get around to knocking some books off of that summer reading list.

Even if you haven’t actually written them down, we all have that list of books that we would love to take a day or two off (or ten) to enjoy. If you don’t well, feel free to borrow some from mine:

  • “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline — I know, this one has been on the bestseller list for a while, but if you’re reading list is anything like mine you’ll understand the struggles behind actually getting around to reading the books on it. This one; however, is most definitely next on my list…probably.
  • “The Supreme Macaroni Company” by Adriana Trigiani — I have to give myself a pat on the back for this one because I’m actually reading this one. This is the third book in a series, so if you haven’t read “Very Valentine” and “Brava, Valentine” already, you should definitely add those to your reading list. Although, if you haven’t read anything by Trigiani before, I would recommend starting with the “Big Stone Gap” series. She’s a gifted story-teller, and her books are all incredibly quick reads since it’s nearly impossible to put them down before you reach the back cover.
  • “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee — I usually reserve a spot for a classic that I haven’t read yet. However, considering this sequel to “To Kill a Mockingbird” was actually written over 50 years ago, it’s about as close to an instant classic as you can get. So, I think it’s worthy of its position.

Another literary classic (more or less)…in less than four minutes:
