Stay Safe Online

Posted on the 14 October 2016 by Suzanne Robinson @mummy2twinsblog

Did you know this week was Stay Smart Online Week?

"Stay Smart Online is the Australian Government's online safety and security website, designed to help everyone understand the risks and simple steps we can take to protect our personal and financial information online."

We are all living in a technology addicted world and I am sure you have noticed that your kids love the computer, iPad or iPhone. I know mine do. They love watching videos on YouTube and just playing games. We make sure we restrict times for watching the iPad and I always monitor what they are watching and doing.

DID YOU KNOW?
90% of Australian's will be online by 2017

The whole aim of the ninth annual Stay Smart Online Week is to have it start from the lounge room to the board room. The focus is on good online security at home and also at work.

You can download practical guides to stay safe online and it gives you steps to ensure you are protected. One of the guides has just eight simple steps to help keep you safe and protected.

Do you worry about your kids online? Have you accidentally clicked on a wrong link? Or opened an email from someone that you did not know? Well many of these issues can be addressed in the great information from Life Education and Intel Security.

Hosted by Jo Vaughan Life Education's National Training Manager and Brett Hannath, Senior Director of Marketing, Intel Security, as well as Intel Security's Cybermum Alex Merton-McCann, the resource features key tips from the Life Education school program's Cybersafety modules bCyberwise and It's Your Call.

Disclaimer: I was approached to see if I would be interested in sharing with my readers. I am very cautious about what I say or reveal online, I like to think that I am teaching my children good habits about how they conduct themselves online as well. Due to the nature of the world we are now surrounded with more and more technology. We need to be safe and protect our personal lives and also our finances. I felt it was a good thing to share to create more awareness on how to keep safe in an online world, and give some practical steps to help.

I would also like to thank Intel Security for this fabulous prize for my readers. It will truly be a huge help to households to protect their online information.
