Stress and Salvation

Posted on the 21 April 2012 by Brittany_tyd @Brittany_TYD
By now ya'll know I am a type-A, stress case a lot of the time. The only thing that keeps me "calm and methodical" (as my boss recently described me, to my surprise) is a lot of prayer, encouragement, scripture memory and the fact that my boyfriend is as solid as a rock. I think he's starting to wear off of me.

Stress and Salvation

{via}

The bible has a lot to say about stress. It also has a lot to say about salvation. And the truth of the matter is, no amount of work, try-hard, stress or responsibility to will save us. Jesus already did it. All we have to do is accept the sweet gift that he gives us out of love.
It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.
- ephesians 1:13-14 (the message)

My advice to myself, and to you, is to let go. He has it under control. And best of all, we didn't do anything to deserve it, so we don't have to do anything to keep it.
Amen.
