Tablet Technology – All About Apple

Posted on the 29 May 2013 by Buyasyouview @BuyAsYouView

As you’re (hopefully) already aware, the new Buy As You View summer catalogue is out now and packed with great offers and new technology products to make sure that you’re up to date with the latest gadgets and gizmos. In this article, we’re going to be looking at the tablets available from Apple in the Buy As You View range.

The recent rise in popularity of tablet computers have meant a massive increase in the numbers, types, sizes and specifications available on the market. At Buy As You View, we’ve done our best to ensure that we have a selection of tablet computers that covers all needs and budgets from the top of the range iPad 4 to the fully functional entry level Archos Arnova tablet. This article will look in detail at the range and specifications on offer from industry leader, Apple. Following this in next week’s article, we’ll be taking a look at our range of Samsung products and entry level tablets to help you decide on the best option for you and your family.

So let’s start with the iPad 4. As with all Apple products, the design and build quality is exceptional. Whilst there’s no change in the look and feel of the iPad 4 compared to previous iPads (apart from the lightening speed connector, which we’ll come to shortly), all of the improvements are to be found inside. The new addition of the AX6 processor gives you improved processing speeds and graphics power and the front facing camera has been upgraded to HD. As with previous models, the Retina quality resolution means that the human eye is unable to notice pixilation at an average viewing distance and Apple still has by far the best App store on the market. If you’ve got an older model, it’s probably not worth upgrading based on the minor improvements, and remember that the new lightening speed connector will mean that you need an adapter to ensure compatibility with older generation Apple products, docks and connectors. If on the other hand you’ve yet to purchase a tablet and it’s top of the range that you want then the Apple iPad 4 16GB is definitely the one for you. You can view the full spec on our website and own it for £8.60 per week* over 104 weeks if your budget allows it!

If you like what Apple has to offer but need something a little more handbag (and wallet) friendly then maybe the iPad Mini is a better option. It’s everything you already love and would expect from the iPad only with a smaller 7.9” display.

Compact & functional – fits in your handbag!

It’s light enough to hold in one hand for extended periods of time (unlike many of its similar sized competitors). It uses the same A5 processor that features on the iPad 2, iPhone 4S and iPod Touch which is more than enough processing power for everything you’ll need it for – browsing, apps etc. The only drawback is the camera. The 5MP rear camera remains poor in low light and compared to the dedicated cameras of photography focused Smartphones, it really isn’t a match. However, all in all, here at Buy As You View, we love this product and with its lower price of £5.73 per week* for 104 weeks, if Apple is the only option for you then this is the product we’d advise.

In our next article, we’ll be looking at the Samsung range as well as discussing some of the entry level tablets if you’re new to this area and want a simple family solution without such a significant price tag.
